HomeDex (“we”, “our”, “the app”) helps you track belongings, rooms, and maintenance reminders across your properties and vehicles. This policy explains what information HomeDex collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and name, whether you sign up with email/password or through Google or Apple sign-in.
- Content you add: properties, rooms, items, photos, notes, and maintenance reminders you create in the app.
- Sharing information: if you invite someone to collaborate on a property, we store their email and the access level you grant them.
- Purchase information: if you upgrade your plan, Google Play or the App Store processes the payment — we never see your card details. We receive a purchase token which we use only to verify the purchase and unlock your plan.
- Bug reports: if you submit a bug report, we collect the description you provide and basic technical details needed to investigate it.
How we use this information
- To provide the core functionality of the app — storing and displaying your properties, items, and reminders.
- To let you share properties with people you invite.
- To verify purchases and apply the correct subscription tier to your account.
- To send maintenance reminder notifications on your device.
- To respond to bug reports and support requests.
- To show ads, and — only if you grant tracking permission when asked — to personalize the ads you see.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- Base44, our backend hosting provider, which stores your account and content data.
- Google Play or the App Store, to process in-app purchases and verify your plan, depending on which you use.
- Google or Apple, only if you choose to sign in with those providers — they confirm your identity but we don’t receive your password.
- Google AdMob, to show ads in the app. On iOS, this only includes your device’s advertising identifier if you grant tracking permission when prompted.
- Other users you explicitly invite to collaborate on a shared property.
Data retention and deletion
Your content is retained as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete all of your houses, rooms, and items at any time from Settings without deleting your account, or delete your account entirely — which removes your account, login, and all associated data — from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Notifications
If you enable maintenance reminders, HomeDex schedules notifications directly on your device for items you’ve marked with a reminder date. These notifications are generated and shown locally on your device — we don’t use a third-party push notification service to deliver them.
Children’s privacy
HomeDex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
